Coronavirus – Kids at Home? I Want to Help

A public-spirited response to the Covid 19 crisis to help parents.

In my capacity as an English teacher, I will be running a Zoom conference aimed at helping parents home-educating pupils during this crisis. I am thinking primarily of GCSE students, but I am equally open to A Level or Key Stage 3.

What’s on offer

Practical Help

Each session will be divided into two parts, the first, aiming at de-mystifying some of the examination board grade descriptions that parents may be meeting for the first time and providing practical suggestions that parents can use with their own children.

Q and A

The second part of the session would be a Q and A for parents. My thoughts are open-ended at the moment and I am happy to be guided by the needs of the group, as far as I am able to meet them.

When

Friday morning, 11.00 for one hour. Starting on 3 April, 2020.

Who I am

For those reading this who do not know me: I have been teaching English and English Literature for thirty years, I am a Senior Examiner at A Level, ex Deputy Head teacher, ex-Head of English at Wycombe Abbey and elsewhere, free-lance lecturer to A level conferences and I have been a private tutor, specializing in working with Home Educating families on and off through my professional life, increasingly working on-line.

If you would like to take part, simply email me to confirm your attendance, before 5.00 on Thursday, 2 April, at
